06

Managed financial operations for aerospace payloads and led the physical design and launch of high-altitude data-gathering systems exceeding 80,000 feet.

01 — Aerospace Systems & Thermal Constraints

Engineered 10cm³ CubeSat payloads requiring strict adherence to size, weight, and power (SWaP) constraints. Utilized SolidWorks to design structural enclosures capable of surviving severe launch vibration and extreme thermal cycling in low-earth environments. Led the high-altitude weather balloon initiative, coordinating multidisciplinary teams to integrate telemetry, power, and environmental sensors for data collection at 80,000+ feet.

02 — Signal Gathering & Processing

We retrieved signals from the weather balloon and gathered signals from space stations and satellites as small one-off projects. We created antennas to try to gather the signals and competed in competitions where we try to deduce what is being said and competitions where we try to create the clearest image from the noise signal.

03 — Financial & Engineering Leadership

As Treasurer for Villanova's CubeSat Satellite Team, I managed the financial infrastructure that enabled our projects to get off the ground, literally. Beyond the budget, I also took on an engineering leadership role, spearheading our data-gathering weather balloon project.

Leading the weather balloon initiative required cross-disciplinary collaboration. The balloon was designed to launch into the atmosphere to gather environmental data and capture POV imagery from high altitudes. I guided the team through designing the payload housing, ensuring our electronic data-gathering components were secured and operational during flight.

On the financial side, I managed the club's budget: projecting costs, balancing expenditures for specialized aerospace components, and planning expenses for events and launch logistics. Keeping the finances organized allowed both the weather balloon and the broader satellite development to progress without funding delays.
